Marina Polyakova is a Principal at Rogers & Company with 25 years of public accounting experience. Her experience includes directing audits and tax compliance engagements for both nonprofit and commercial companies, including associations, public charities, foundations, and public corporations. Marina has a special focus on providing audit, tax, and business advisory services to associations, foundations, and other tax-exempt organizations. She serves many of the firm’s clients who have overseas operations, complex organizational structures, and IFRS reporting requirements.

Her experience includes overseeing financial statement audits under U.S. accounting standards, OMB audits under the Uniform Guidance, exempt organization tax compliance and consulting, and other value-added services. She has addressed the leadership of numerous associations and other not-for-profit organizations on diverse accounting and tax topics such as the fundamentals of association accounting, assessing cost effectiveness of association services, association financial and tax updates, and budgeting. Marina consults with many nonprofit Boards on financial results and best practices, and has received recognition for her commitment towards exceptional client service, as well as her contributions of pro bono service hours and volunteerism. She has received formal recognition for outstanding customer service from both the Challenger Center and Rosemont Center.

Prior to joining the firm in 2007, she worked in the McLean, VA office of Ernst & Young LLP. Marina holds a Masters in Accounting from the esteemed Finance Academy of the Russian Federation. She has taught classes on nonprofit accounting and reporting at client industry forums. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Greater Washington Society of CPAs, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She oversees the firm’s diversity and women’s initiatives, serves on the firm’s Quality Control Committee, and has volunteered as an accounting instructor for several of the firm’s clients what have national chapters.
