Darrin
S. Rogers, CPA, CMA
Audit & Assurance
Darrin S. Rogers is the founding member and Managing Director of Rogers & Company PLLC. He has over 20 years of diversified pubic accounting experience with a special focus in the not-for-profit industry. In addition, he has served clients in the real estate, technology, and service industries. Darrin's prior experience included working in the Washington, DC offices of Price Waterhouse LLP, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Grant Thornton LLP where he served as Director of Assurance Services for the nonprofit industry practice. Darrin has developed a reputation for possessing a unique blend of technical expertise and attentive client service. Highly professional and approachable, he provides substantive business insight while developing viable solutions to complex problems.
In addition to being the firm’s Managing Director, Darrin oversees the firm’s audit and assurance practice, and acts as the client service partner for some of the firm’s largest association and charitable clients. He has consulted with clients on a broad range of business and technical topics, including risk assessment and management, financial accounting and reporting, tax compliance and planning, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic business management. His experience includes overseeing financial statement audits under both U.S. and international standards, OMB Circular A-133 audits, due diligence and agreed-upon procedures, benchmarking studies, and exempt tax compliance and reporting. He has taught courses on emerging nonprofit technical issues at national conferences and educational institutions, and makes numerous presentations annually to Boards and executives on audit, tax, and financial accounting matters, as well as industry trends.
Darrin is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, Maryland, and DC, and a Certified Management Accountant. He’s a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Greater Washington Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, and the Institute of Management Accountants. He graduated from Radford University in Radford, Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a Minor in Mathematics. While at Radford University, Darrin received state and national honors in accounting through Phi Beta Lambda. He is an audit committee member for some of the world's most recognized charitable organizations.
Laurie A. Waldbillig, CPA
Tax Compliance
Laurie has over 20 years experience specializing in tax compliance, planning and consulting for associations, nonprofits, businesses, and individuals. She has worked extensively with exempt organizations, individuals, corporations, partnerships, and LLCs on issues ranging from routine tax compliance to strategic tax planning. Her clients appreciate her straightforward approach to offering practical advice and tax savings opportunities.
In addition, Laurie’s experience covers estate and gift taxation, compensation and benefits, IRS offers in compromise, multi-state taxation, and international taxation. She has worked with clients to address complex transactions and develop effective tax savings strategies. Laurie works out of our Federal Tax Practice office in McLean, where she also oversees a separate affiliated tax consulting practice focusing on high net-worth individuals.
Laurie is licensed CPA in Virginia, DC, and New York, and is an active member of the Virginia Society of CPAs. She graduated from Drake University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. She’s actively involved with various professional women’s initiatives and groups focusing on business and tax matters, and she frequently makes presentations on salient tax topics.
Robert N. Vohra, LLM, JD
Tax Consulting and Litigation Support
Robert has over 20 years of experience as a tax practitioner and attorney specializing in providing associations, commercial enterprises, and other business entities with tax consultation and planning, obtaining private letter rulings and offers in compromise, and assisting in legal representation in tax litigation, tax court proceedings, and Internal Revenue Service audits. Robert also specializes in securities law, and counsels clients on all aspects of Federal and State income taxation.
In addition to overseeing tax consulting and litigation support services, Robert assists the firm’s Partners on exempt organization tax engagements by providing an independent quality review of the tax work, including 990 preparation, and special engagements covering consultation on lobbying, political activities, intermediate sanctions, unrelated business income taxes, and other relevant tax exempt law issues. Robert graduated from Columbia University and Georgetown Law School.
Jodi C. Rogers, CPA
Technology Services
Jodi has over 16 years experience in planning, designing, developing, implementing and supporting financial system solutions for businesses. She has in-depth experience as the project manager and the implementer of large scale and mid range systems for the Public Sector, Financial Services, and Communications industries. Jodi is well versed in the challenges faced by these businesses as well as the solutions and systems to support them, and possesses extensive hands on experience with Oracle Financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets and Accounts Receivable.
Jodi’s experience includes managing the development of major enterprise-wide financial management and reporting systems for some of the world’s largest governmental, private, and publicly-held institutions. She has successfully managed the installations of Global Integrated Financial Systems, Global Financial Systems Architecture, and all major releases of Oracle Financials. Jodi’s experience also includes coordinating large scale technology systems with other strategic technology business partners.
Prior to becoming the firm’s Director of Technology Services, Jodi worked as a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting, and started her career with Price Waterhouse. Jodi graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and has published articles in industry trade journals dealing with practical technology solutions. Nicole S. Hamilton, CPA
Business Outsourcing
Nicole directs the firm’s business outsourcing practice, which includes providing support to clients with transaction processing, financial reporting, audit preparation, tax and payroll compliance, human resource management, and other strategic business services. Her background includes over nine years of both public accounting experience and private industry experience in controllership and finance positions. This background affords her a balanced perspective towards managing our client’s needs, which is reflective of all the professionals working in her group.
Whether assisting clients with budget preparation or modifying software to accommodate new regulatory reporting needs, Nicole’s group offers a host of services to help companies from small nonprofits to large corporations. By cost effectively managing core management and processing functions, our clients are better positioned to focus on strategic objectives.
Nicole graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting. Prior to working with Rogers & Company, she worked as the Director of Finance for the National Women’s Law Center, and also worked in the public accounting field as an auditor in the Washington, DC area. She is actively involved in professional associations, and chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee.
