Jorge Diaz, is a Principal at Rogers & Company with more than 19 years of public accounting experience, and an exclusive focus on the nonprofit industry, including providing audit, accounting, outsourcing, and advisory services to a variety of associations, charities, foundations, and other exempt organizations. Jorge also consults with numerous nonprofit boards on accounting matters, best practices, and audit results and recommendations.

With his broad experience and exposure, Jorge brings unique expertise to assist clients engaged in national and international programs, joint ventures, and large scale fundraising programs, and he’s involved with many of the firm’s clients who receive federal funding. He has a reputation for exceptional and timely client service, accessibility and responsiveness, and high quality, objective audit services. Jorge’s experience includes overseeing financial statement audits under both U.S. and international standards; the Uniform Guidance as well as other audits subject to Government Auditing Standards; grant audits for various foreign agencies; benefit plan audits, and; agreed-upon procedures. He provides business advisory services to his clients in areas including internal control structure, accounting policies and procedures, contracts and grants management, and governance matters. He has also provided oversight for accounting services for several of the firm’s outsourcing clients, and assists clients in researching complex accounting and reporting issues, such as valuation of alternative investments, contribution accounting, indirect costs and rate structures, and capitalization of software development costs.

Prior to joining the firm, Jorge started his career at an international CPA firm in Washington, DC where he worked in the nonprofit services group. Jorge holds a B.S. in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and California, and a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and Greater Washington Society of CPAs. He has held courses and instruction for his clients in areas such as nonprofit financial reporting, tax compliance, and governance matters.
