Darrin S. Rogers, CPA, CMA
Managing Director
Darrin S. Rogers is the founding member and Managing Director of Rogers & Company PLLC. He has over 23 years of diversified public accounting experience with a special focus in the not-for-profit industry. In addition, he has served clients in the real estate, technology, and service industries. Darrin's prior experience included working in the Washington, DC offices of Price Waterhouse LLP, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Grant Thornton LLP where he served as Director of Assurance Services for the nonprofit industry practice. Darrin has developed a reputation for possessing a unique blend of technical expertise and attentive client service. Highly professional and approachable, he provides substantive business insight while developing viable solutions to complex problems.
In addition to being the firm's Managing Director, Darrin acts as the client service partner for some of the firm's largest association and charitable clients. He has consulted with clients on a broad range of business and technical topics, including risk assessment and management, financial accounting and reporting, tax compliance and planning, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic business management. His experience includes overseeing financial statement audits under both U.S. and international standards, OMB Circular A-133 audits, due diligence and agreed-upon procedures, benchmarking studies, and exempt tax compliance and reporting. He has taught courses on emerging nonprofit technical issues at national conferences and educational institutions, and makes numerous presentations annually to Boards and executives on audit, tax, and financial accounting matters, as well as industry trends.
Darrin is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, Maryland, and DC, and a Certified Management Accountant. He's a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Greater Washington Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, and the Institute of Management Accountants. He graduated from Radford University in Radford, Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a Minor in Mathematics. While at Radford University, Darrin received state and national honors in accounting through Phi Beta Lambda. He is an audit committee member for some of the world's most recognized charitable organizations.
Michael A. Benoudiz, CPA
Director of Audit and Assurance Services
Michael A. Benoudiz is a Principal at Rogers & Company, and is Director of the Audit and Assurance practice, including overseeing the firm's quality control processes. Prior to joining the firm, Mike was a Senior Manager in the DC nonprofit practice of LarsonAllen, a national accounting firm. With 25 years experience serving the nonprofit industry, Mike has a special focus on providing audit, tax, and business advisory services to a wide array of associations, foundations, and other exempt organizations. Mike prides himself on being responsive, reliable, and resourceful for all his clients, and has a solid reputation in the industry for exceptional client service.
Mike's experience includes overseeing financial statement audits under U.S. accounting standards, OMB Circular A-133 audits, exempt organization tax compliance and consulting, CFO for a national trade association, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of clients' internal control policies and procedures, and other value-added services. He has addressed the leadership of numerous associations and other not-for-profit organizations on diverse accounting and tax topics such as the fundamentals of association accounting, assessing cost effectiveness of association services, association financial and tax updates, and budgeting.
Mike is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of GWSCPA, VSCPA and the AICPA. He graduated from the University of Maryland-College Park with a B.S. in Accounting and Business Commerce. He has served as an audit committee member for America's Charities.
Alok Kakker, CISA
Director of Technology Risk Management
Alok is a Director of Technology Risk Management with our firm, with over 14 years of experience in corporate compliance, technology risk management, and technical implementations. His experience includes IT risk assessments and control testing, SSAE No.16, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, corporate governance assignments, and remediation of operational, project, and business issues. He has extensive knowledge of ITIL, ISO 17799, COBIT, FISMA, NIST standards 800 series, and FIPS 199, 200.
A client service driven management executive, Alok has worked with small start up enterprises to Fortune 500 companies providing a wide array of technology risk management services. Alok holds a Masters in Science, Operations Research & Applied Statistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a member of ISACA. Prior to working with Rogers & Company, Alok was an Enterprise Risk Management Consultant with Deloitte & Touche LLP and a Senior Computer Systems Engineer with Advancia Corporation. He is currently a principal for Annuk Incorporated, which focuses on risk assessment and technology support services for international companies.
Jodi C. Rogers, CPA
Director of Enterprise Solutions
Jodi has over 19 years experience in planning, designing, developing, implementing and supporting financial system solutions for businesses. She has in-depth experience as the project manager and the implementer of large scale and mid range systems for the Public Sector, Financial Services, and Communications industries. Jodi is well versed in the challenges faced by these businesses as well as the solutions and systems to support them, and possesses extensive hands on experience with Oracle Financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets and Accounts Receivable.
Jodi's experience includes managing the development of major enterprise-wide financial management and reporting systems for some of the world's largest governmental, private, and publicly-held institutions. She has successfully managed the installations of Global Integrated Financial Systems, Global Financial Systems Architecture, and all major releases of Oracle Financials. Jodi's experience also includes coordinating large scale technology systems with other strategic technology business partners.
Prior to becoming the firm's Director of Technology Services, Jodi worked as a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting, and started her career with Price Waterhouse. Jodi graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and has published articles in industry trade journals dealing with practical technology solutions.
